Great British Menu Does Comic Relief
Mark Greenaway is back on TV!
Watch out for Mark on BBC TWO’s series Great British Menu. He’s competing in the Scottish regional heat which transmits from Monday 4 to Friday 8 February at 7.30pm on BBC TWO.
This year Great British Menu Does Comic Relief celebrates 25 years of Red Nose Day. The charity has raised more than 800 million pounds through the power of entertainment and this year Britain’s top chefs are challenged to combine serious cooking with humour to celebrate the charity’s achievements.
24 chefs from 8 regions across Britain are vying for a place in the final. The chefs’ are asked to create a 4-course meal that is both gastronomic and witty – putting a smile on the judges’ faces.
Mark must impress Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett as only two chefs from his heat will make it through to the Scottish regional final on Friday 8 February and face the Great British Menu judges Prue Leith, Matthew Fort and Oliver Peyton.
The challenge this year is to create a menu fit for a special banquet at The Royal Albert Hall celebrating 25 years of Red Nose Day where guests will include the unsung heroes of charity work, as well as those who have benefitted from Comic Relief, and celebrities from the world of entertainment who have inspired us to do “something funny for money”.
As well as cooking their hearts out in the kitchen, the chefs are taking part in Menu Relief, where people can dine out at top restaurants around the country and help to raise money for Comic Relief.
We’ll be serving Mark’s 4-course menu from Tuesday 12 February for £55, with 10% from all meals going to Comic Relief.
We’ll post Mark’s menu next weekend. Good luck Mark!
